As the Director of Video Systems, Clete leads and develops an enthusiastic team of 120 video volunteers as well as maintains North Point’s video equipment.“We are looking forward to expanding on our discussion from the local REACH events about utilizing the appropriate tools for live distribution,” commented Brendle. “There are several available options for distribution including telco, direct fiber, and satellite delivery; our goal is to work with houses of worship to develop a distribution plan that is optimally best for them.
”The company will also address the challenges and important points of transitioning from closed to open architecture, such as cost of satellite versus IP, the difference between broadcast video and streaming video, and the trouble with MPEG content in IP packets. Traditional methods of distribution and alternatives will also be addressed with regard to cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and realistic ability to deploy these methods.
