Bridge Technologies is set to unveil a groundbreaking innovation at NAB 2015 with the introduction of Gold TS Reference, a technology that enhances digital service monitoring by simplifying setup and significantly improving fault detection accuracy. This new feature surpasses the traditional ETR290 standard by detecting critical conditions, such as errors in the conditional access system or unintended language changes, that might otherwise go unnoticed. Gold TS Reference enables real-time comparison against a comprehensive snapshot of a correctly functioning stream, providing operators with a more secure and reliable way to ensure the quality of digital media services.
Bridge Technologies to Introduce Pioneering New Protection for Digital Services at NAB 2015
OSLO, Norway — March 24, 2015 — Bridge Technologies is bringing imaginitive new technologies to NAB 2015 (Booth SU 4916).Bridge Technologies’ major innovation at NAB 2015 is a radically new technology that makes monitoring for digital services much quicker to set up, and fault-tracking much, much more accurate and secure. Developed exclusively by Bridge Technologies, Gold TS Reference includes all the checks specified in the ETR290 standard, but goes much further to include testing for critical conditions missed by ETR290, such as errors in the conditional access system, failures of the program guide, unintended language changes, and more.
By allowing users to take a ‘snapshot’ of a correctly functioning stream, Gold TS Reference creates a comprehensive template including all the stream’s correct values and settings, against which performance is subsequently compared in real time. Any deviation from any of the values in the reference is automatically detected and presented in an instantly understandable color-coded display. This means that operator attention is instantly drawn to deviations including those which may otherwise be ‘legal’ within the parameters of the ETR290 standard for testing digital media streams. Conditions such as time differences in the program guide or a change of language would not be detected and flagged as faults by conventional ETR290 checks, even though they have significant impact on the subscriber.
Commenting on the company’s presence at NAB 2015, Bridge Technologies Chairman Simen Frostad said: “We think the introduction of Gold TS Reference is really a profound change for the future of digital media monitoring. It not only creates operational simplicity where there was complexity before, but it’s also a far more reliable method for protecting the quality of digital media services because it monitors service-critical factors which are outside the scope of ETR290.”
